LIFT KITS, LEVELING KITS, AND LOWERING KITS

Pick up that body off the road... or set it down for easier access.

Just because the factory says your truck needs to be too low or too high doesn’t mean you need to listen to them. If Chevy told you to stop eating meat, would you listen?

Sometimes trucks are too low to the ground and you need more ground clearance. That’s where a lift kit comes in. We can raise the front or rear of your vehicle from 1 to 2 ½ inches.

LEVELING KITS

Almost all trucks are made with a natural “rake” or tilt with the front slightly lower. It can be anywhere between 1- 2 inches lower in the front than the back. That’s fine if you’re going to be carrying a thousand pounds in your bed all the time, but if not, it affects your ground clearance and points your headlights into the ground. A simple level kit fixes those problems, it's called a leveling kit.

There are three reasons to get a leveling kit on your truck. First, it will give your truck a natural, or level, stance. Trucks just look odd with their nose pointed to the ground, and some trucks are more pronounced than others, the Ford F-150 comes to mind.

A second reason to add a leveling kit to your truck is to give your truck more space in the wheel well, allowing you to add bigger wheels and tires in some cases. Maybe you want to take your 18" wheels with stock tires and put 20's on with some aggressive all-terrain tires. As long as you don't go crazy, you may be able to get that accomplished with a leveling kit.

A third reason to add a leveling kit is that raising your front end also raises the angle of your headlights, allowing you to see farther down the road. You may get some extra visibility at night, especially on a dark road.

Most leveling kits use simple strut spacers or torsion keys for an economical, quick and easy way to raise your truck. However some come with addition items like shock extensions or upper control arms, allowing your wheels to have greater travel, and better angles for your suspension.

LOWERING KITS

Sometimes trucks are just too high for lots of reasons. Maybe someone with physical limitations or someone elderly in your family has trouble climbing in. Or maybe you believe that you shouldn’t have to climb a ladder to get in your truck. You could add steps, or we can lower your truck from up to four inches to make it more accessible. Or why not both?

Pickup Outfitters of Waco professionally installs truck leveling kits and lowering kits from the top manufacturers. Please note, level and lowering kits may affect your warranty in some situations.
